Spirit Soaring - Camden, ME

Let your spirit soar as you glide through the air and share the sky with the birds, soaring above the clouds in silent freedom. Spirit Soaring offes a variety of glider rides in their high performance self-launch gliders. Your voyage begins as you slip in to the sleek glider and experience the sheer elegance of soaring on top of the world. Gliders were developed in the 1920s for recreational purposes. As pilots began to understand how to use rising air, gliders were developed with a high lift-to-drag ratio. These allowed longer glides to the next source of 'lift' and so increasing their chances of flying long distances. This gave rise to the popular sport known as gliding. At Spirit Soaring, you pick the ride and then sit back and enjoy the beauty and solitude of silent soaring, listening to the wind whisper over the glider. Or if you like, you can take the controls and soar though the air and fly like a bird. The sky’s the limit.
